Caring Christmas

Christmas isn’t all about candy canes,

nor about Christmas lights aglow.

Nor is it about Santa, ho! ho! ho!

It’s really about the Hearts we touch

and the care we show.

Disney

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas!

May you receive the gift of hope,

that this season brings;

May you celebrate faith

in whatever circumstance you are in;

Share joy with others

all of the time;

And live with love in your heart

as Jesus did.

Memories Remain

Published March 5, 2017 by Healthy Living with nature

Making Memories

Memories remain

Within my heart and mind

of things so long ago

of things I’ve left behind.

Of people I have loved

and lost along the way….

the spirit still lives on,

the love is here to stay.

It only takes a moment,

to restore what used to be,…

like footprints in the sand

they’ve left their mark on me.

Memories remain

forever they will be….

ingrained upon my heart,

where love resides in me.

I devote these words to special people who have touched my life and moved on,who have grown up and made a new life for themselves, who have died but still live in my memory.

Let There be Light

                              Personal Potential

Light changes everything

Have you ever sat in the quietness of the dawn watching the scene unfolding before you and everything gradually comes into focus as the sun rises into the heavens?

 Breathtaking!

Or…. have you noticed the light that filters through the tree tops, on a warm summer’s day, casting flickering shadows on the cool grass surrounding you?

Bliss!

Or…. have you observed how clouds can part and allow rays of light hit bodies of water and transform them into shimmering jewels?

 Sensational!

Light can set mood, facilitate direction and promote growth.

It’s uncanny how problems always seem bigger on cold, dark wintry or wet overcast days. And yet we can find comfort in lifting our face skywards, eyes shut, towards the warmth and light of the sun. Worries seem to diminish in the light of day.

Photographers can create masterpieces with their abilities to capture light in their photographs and make them extraordinary. Their understanding of light is important to transform the quality of the picture they are presenting.

Awe-inspiring!

Jesus, as the light of the world, offers us HOPE for miraculous change —- as light miraculously transforms the landscape and mood around us —- no matter how complex our situations are.

Inspirational!

No matter what our circumstances, Jesus in our darkest moments is a constant source of LOVE, HOPE and COMFORT. He’s the light to help us in the way ahead and He is a means to letting our personal potential

Revealing Revelation

Reflective Revelation

What you are

is revealed by what you do…..

What you do

reveals what you truly believe.

If you cherish every moment

all the beauty of each day,

if you treasure simple pleasures

little joys life brings your way,

If you inspire love and friendship

because you’re warm and dear….

You’re a special kind of person

who grows nicer with each year.

Take time to smell the roses. It’s well worth finding out what the things are we miss out on if we don’t take the time to look.

I WILL live with JOY in my heart.

Wishful Wanting

Dear Santa,

This year I don’t want any material gifts delivered under my tree. I have so many wonderful things in my life- most of all good health and happiness. Could you please send me the things that I am requesting below  …….

I would like :

 No more lives torn apart,

That wars would NEVER begin….

…. and the wars raging now would cease.

And that time would heal all hearts.

Everyone would have a caring friend,

And RIGHT would always win.

And LOVE would never end.

Shut Up I’m Still Talking ( via our nephew Philip)

Thank you Santa in anticipation of a “HOPE FILLED” Christmas for myself and

everybody else on earth.

Your Friend

                   Take Time……. to LOVE!

I found this poem in”Splashes of Joy in the the cesspool of life by Barbara Johnson. It’s is an oldie which I have read many times and it still manages to bring a tear to my eyes.

The Old Violin

‘Twas battered and scarred, and the auctioneer

Thought it scarcely worth his while

To waste much time on the old violin,

But held it up with a smile.

“What am I bidden, good folks ?” he cried,

Who’ll start the bidding for me?

A dollar, a dollar-now two, only two –

Two dollars, and who’ll make it three?

Three dollars once, three dollars twice,

Going for three” – but no!

From the room far back a grey – haired man

Came forward and picked up the bow;

Then wiping the dust from the old violin,

And tightening up all the strings,

He played a melody pure and sweet,

As sweet as an angel sings.

The music ceased, and the auctioneer,

With a voice that was quiet and low,

Said,” what am I bid for the old violin?”

And he held up the bow,

“A thousand dollars- who’ll make it two?

Two thousand – and who’ll make it three?

Three thousand once and three thousand twice –

And going and gone, ” said he.

The people cheered and some of them cried,

“We do not understand

What changed its worth ?” The man replied:

“The touch of a master’s hand.

And many a man with a life out of tune,

And battered and torn with sin,

Is auctioned cheap to a thoughtless crowd,

 Much like the old violin…….

But the Master comes, and the foolish crowd

Never can quite understand

The worth of a soul and the change that’s wrought

By the touch of the Master’s hand.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

And no matter how battered and old, the “Master” is not finished yet.

Loving Life and Laughter

Published July 23, 2015 by Healthy Living with nature

A loving Legend

Legends say that the hummingbirds float free.

They carry our hopes for love, joy, and celebration.

The hummingbird’s delicate grace reminds us that

life is rich, beauty is everywhere, and every

personal connection has meaning,

and that laughter is life’s sweetest creation.

We need to find beauty in all things we see

… most of all in nature and people we meet.

We need to share the beauty in ourselves

in every connection we make with others.

Life is definitely rich  and it’s ours for the taking.

Wistful Wishing

Published September 3, 2013 by Healthy Living with nature

I wish for:

Comfort on days that are difficult,

Smiles when sadness intrudes,

Rainbows to follow clouds,

  Laughter to soothe yearning lips,

Sunsets to warm aching hearts

Gentle hugs for sagging spirits,

 Friendship to brighten each day,

Beauty for longing eyes to observe,

 Confidence for when in doubt,

Faith to help flagging belief,

Courage to know our true selves,

Patience for acceptance of truth,

And LOVE to make life complete.
